My take on this cordless impact wrench

As mentioned before, I have blind faith on Bosch tools as they are of the highest standard, both in build quality and performance. This is unarguably the best cordless impact wrench I have used. The battery power amazed me as I was able to complete an entire day’s work without having to use the secondary battery. Bosch, based on inputs received from other customers has changed the design of the handle making it easier to grip. Contact customer service as soon as you get the tool for a special and extended warranty on the battery as well as on the tool.

The basics:
This tool is ideal for both DIY enthusiasts as well as for professionals. Its long battery life allows you to use it over extended periods without any problems. However, I strongly advise that you purchase a couple of extra batteries and charge them if you plan to go to a remote location where there is no power supply. As the tool weighs only 6.7 Pounds, you will not feel any stress when using it for long periods. The pack does not include the Manufacturer’s warranty, and I had to request for it online.

In depth features:
As this tool is cordless, you can use this tool anywhere even if there is no power source available. This tool boasts of 2100 impacts per minute and has a maximum speed of 1900 rotations per minute. It works on 18 volts DC and has a torque of 500 feet pound. Although the warranty is limited to one year, you can increase that to three years by signing up online for the ProVantage option. Who can use this wrench?

This wrench is ideal for heavy duty users and well as for do it yourself enthusiasts. Although the price is slightly on the higher side, the build quality and the excellent performance of the wrench more than compensate its price. Car mechanics will be extremely pleased with this cordless wrench as it saves them a lot of time, and can handle little bolts, big bolts, and log nuts efficiently.

What I did not like about this wrench

Bosch has altered the design of this wrench to decrease its weight. In doing so they have compromised with the strength and thickness of the column going from the head to the base in which the battery attaches. This decreases the strength and durability of the column. I wish Bosch changed the design to improve the strength of the column, even if it increases the weight of the tool slightly.

How does this impact wrench compare to other impact wrenches?

1. Bosch vs Dewalt DCF899P1
The Dewalt DCF899P1 is a good competitor for the Bosch and provides more torque. It also boasts of multi speed controls for different applications. However, it is heavier than the Bosch is and its battery life is not as much as that offered by the Bosch. Apart from this, it is also costlier by 60 bucks. It is not comfortable to work with in difficult to reach corners. I wished that Bosch also changed the color of its device to a bright yellow like that of the Dewalt.

2. Bosch wrench vs Milwaukee
Both Milwaukee and Bosch offer reliable tools and are the brands to go for if you have decided to purchase a new impact wrench. Both companies regularly bring out new models for their customers, and all models work equally well. However, Bosch scores over the Milwaukee impact wrench in terms of price, as the latter is excessively expensive.

3. Bosch 18V cordless impact wrench vs Makita
While Makita and Bosch have nearly the same power rating, the latter is far ahead if you want to do repetitive work. On the speed front, Makita is faster than its German counterpart is. However, when you consider the weight and the cost, Bosch is miles ahead of its competitor. Apart from this, only Bosch offers a no questions asked 90 days money back policy, and is far more ergonomic than the Makita.

What do users say about the Bosch?

I have gone through numerous Bosch 18V cordless impact wrench review, and hardly found any negative comments about it. The only complain was about the color and the altered design, which certain users did not prefer. Most users rave about the battery life of the IWH181-01, as well as its capability to work effortlessly in hard to reach places.

Final thoughts
If you plan to purchase a compact and cordless impact wrench, and do not mind the color of the device, look no further than the Bosch IWH181-01. I have been using it for several months and have yet to find any issues with it.
